Privacy Policy
Effective October 23, 2026 · Pathfinder Run Club for iPhone
Pathfinder Run Club (“Pathfinder”, “we”) is a small app made by TrailMix in Farmington, Missouri, so a running group can see where its members are during a run. This policy says exactly what the app collects, who can see it, and how to get rid of it. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no third-party tracking.
What we collect
- The name you type when you join a group (usually a nickname). It is shown to the other members of that group and nobody else.
- A random device token created when you join. It lets your phone talk to the service without a password. It is stored hashed on our servers.
- Your precise location, only while a run is on. Between the moment you tap Start and the moment you tap Finish (or the run times out after four hours), the app sends your GPS position, speed, heading, and position along the course to our servers about every five seconds, including while the phone is locked or the app is in the background. iOS shows its location indicator the whole time. Outside a run the app does not read your location at all.
- Courses (GPX routes) that members import, and the run history built from everyone’s positions during a run.
We do not collect your contacts, photos, health data, Apple ID, email, or advertising identifiers.
Who can see it
Everyone who holds your group’s code can join the group and see every member’s name, live position during a run, and past runs. Treat the code like a shared house key. We do not sell or share this data with anyone else, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
Where it is stored
On servers run by Vercel and a Postgres database hosted by Neon, in the United States, over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Your name and group are also kept on your phone so you don’t have to re-enter them.
How long we keep it
Positions and run history stay with the group until you leave it or the group is deleted. We may delete old runs to save space.
Deleting your data
In the app: Settings → Leave group. That deletes your name, device token, positions, and run history from our servers immediately. You can also email support@trailmix.club with your group and name and we will remove them within a few days.
Children
Pathfinder is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the effective date above changes and the new version is posted here.
